Into Victoria, on the Murray

Back on the Hume Highway travelling with all the trucks, turned off into Goulburn for lunch and intending to stop on the River we turned onto a road only to find a low bridge which we were not able to drive under.  Luckily we were able to turn around before driving too far down!  We found a free camp just south of Gundagai on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River (travelled towards Mundarlo and turned into Lime Kiln TSR through a gated property to the camp site). Nice spot and only one other camper.

Lots of large gums, which we hadn't seen for some time

Left early the next day, stopped for coffee at Submarine Cafe in Holbrook (good coffee).  Continued to Albury Tourist Park and set up with plenty of time to have the car in for a service with Toyota Lavington.  Helen was pleased to get all the washing done and dried.

Morning coffee at Holbrook, cafe just next to the HMAS Otway.

Headed down Hume Highway to turn off to Yarrawonga then stopped at Rutherglen for coffee.  Drove to Nevins Bend (free camp on bank of the River Murray), set up for 2 nights with only 2 other groups camping. Quite warm today however the water here was freezing - night cooled down nicely for sleeping.

Sunset
I had seen some hot rods on the road when we came through Yarrawonga and noticed a sign to the Lake Mulwala Hot Rod Run, so I couldn't resist driving back in to town and checking out the cars.

So much chrome

All nice and shiny

Check out the pom poms in the back window

Looking pretty slick!!

Loved the paint work on this one
