In and around Darwin

Sunrise on an early morning ride

Long term parking! Thr tree is growing out the sunroof
We enjoyed our Territory fix for 5 weeks visiting friends and revisiting places we enjoyed when we lived at Palmerston. Didn't take too many photos as we generally went to places we had been to when we lived here. Quite a few changes have taken place with major shopping complexes opening up outside the CBD precinct.  Also had a couple of days getting the garden cleaned up in our rental house.

Loading the trailer for a dump run after trimming the palms.

Now that's how to load a trailer, territory style.
I was able to get the bike out and get back into riding 20kms in the morning whilst staying at Darwin River.  Had a few adventures some mornings with dogs ready to chase the bike, finding a wallet, having a lovely Border Collie run 10kms with me which was great to chase the wild pig away!. The dog folowed me all the way home so had to take it to a vet where owner was found after they posted details on their website. A couple of days later it followed again so had to return to owners - they were a bit oblivious to what the dog got up to. Also spotted the begining of a fire so contacted authorities who came out and took my details before putting fire out. Apparently there was an arsonist in the area which was the cause of a couple of big fires.
A very fit border collie which followed me 10km

A piece of roadside art which I'd pass most mornings.

I couldn't resist a mango ice cream at Curls, Coolalinga.

During our time we visited numerous Markets, had a meal at the Wharf and experienced the WW11 and RFD exhibition which was new to us.  Absolutely brilliant experience viewing the bombing of Darwin via a simulator - would definitely recommend.

One of the displays at the Royal Flying Doctor museum.

These weird 3D goggles provided the best graphics of the bombing of Darwin
Highly recommended
Booked a Motel for a night when we celebrated Karen's surprise 40th Birthday - was great to catch up with quite a few people I had worked with. With a typical Darwin balmey night it was a great celebration at the Darwin Sailing Club

Richard and Lauren with the Karen masks we wore on her arrival.

Helen wasn't feelinng the best in the last week and unfortunately missed out on a meal at Karen and Con new appartment which overlooks Cullen Bay. I had a sleepover so could partake of the delicious meal including mango cheesecake and of course wash it all down with a few beverages and good wine.

View from Karen and Cons unit balcony overlooking Cullen Bay marina.

Also managed to fit a night in at the speedway.
