Byron and Brunswick day trip

From Canungra we drove to Kirra Beach Tourist Park where we stayed for 5 nights.  Helen's brother Robert and wife Rhonda had come up from Adelaide for the wedding and they stayed on for another couple of weeks   They were staying at Broadbeach, so when we returned from our camping week we were able to catch up a couple of times. Robert was turning 70 in June so decided to take him out for tea with family to celebrate as we would not be able to join him in Adelaide.  Had a lovely meal at Gemelli Italian Restaurant in Broadbeach with the kids plus our niece and our great-niece, who live in Tugun.  Had a great night and an enjoyable early celebration for Robert.

On another day we took Robert & Rhonda for a drive to Brunswick Heads as they hadn't been there before.  On the way down they also mentioned it had been some time since they had been to Byron Bay, so decided to call in their first, then head back to Brunswick for lunch.  As usual Byron was so busy but had a bit of a walk around the shops and checked out the beach - the weather was beautiful!

Walked down to the beach at Byron, view towards lighthouse, Australia's most Easterly point.

One of the streets of Byron, most were very busy!
Brunswick Heads was much more relaxing. We had a walk along the breakwater and looked at the beach.  Even though it was sunny it was a bit windy and on the cooler side so wasn't tempted to go for a swim. Had lunch at the Brunswick Heads Hotel - great spot.

Great lunch at the Brunswick Hotel, they have a great outdoor area.

After lunch we headed back and called into Todd's home so Robert and Rhonda could have a look and also meet Dudley!!  Had a wonderful day!

Robert and Rhonda called around to drop off food items before flying back to Adelaide.  Todd had organised a Mothers Day late lunch on the beach at Tugun.  He had cooked up some lamb which we had on pita bread together with his home made bean salad, fresh spinach and coriander!  What a feast! We also had Tenelle's home made cup cakes and a blueberry crumble.  Were joined by Erin, Ben and Abe and had a wonderful day - so nice to have your kids arrange to spend time with their Mum!  Probably the first Mother's Day we have been together in years - very special.
