Back in the NT - Zebra Rock Mine

We left Broome after 2 weeks of enjoying each day at the beach and started to make our way towards the Northern Territory. We had travelled across the Great Northern Hwy to Kununurra previous trips but still enjoyed staying at our favourite spots. Had an overnight stop at Ellendale gravel pit (plenty of room here as main camping area was full).  fuelling up at Fitzroy Crossing at the same time as Ernie Dingo! This created a bit of entertainment for the locals. We decided to head for Mary Pool a very popular free camp. We were lucky enough to get a riverside spot so stayed a couple of nights. Our next overnight stop was Dunham River Rest Area (approx 100kms SW of Kununurra). This worked well for a quick early morning visit to Kununurra for fuel & water then onto Zebra Rock Mine.

We really enjoy the hospitality of Ruth and Kim (Zebra Rock Mine), so stayed for 2 nights. I was able to enjoy scones/jam/cream plus a couple of mango icecreams, this along makes the trip in worth it. Really enjoy staying at this place - basic but very welcoming. Travelled on the Victoria Hwy to Katherine then camped at Edith Falls, enjoying a refreshing swim. Had another camp at Adelaide River Racecource before continuing up the Stuart Hwy to Darwin.

Tom entertained us around the fire with fire twirling

Nightly fire to chat with fellow tavellers

Of course I had to have some of the best scones, baked daily. Yum!
